Tonight,
I would like to thank you as readers for being here. I have been on a short hiatus as the spring gets very busy for me. But I am back.
In the next week or so I will begin publishing a new short series for SANTGL called Hey God, You There? It’s Me Again. Where I will be exploring the contents of Monica Sjoo and Barbara Mor’s book, The Great Cosmic Mother: Rediscovering the Religion of The Earth.
About a few weeks ago I came across this TikTok on my for you page
This short series I am working on feels really important to me with the rise of Trad Wife culture and influencers taking the internet followed by the government revoking body autonomy such as my home state of Arizona did this past week enforcing an all abortion ban from 1864 before it was even a state. Being a womb bearer, continues to be a threat to a patriarchal society that thrives from controlling the womb and the being that inhabits it. This video was incredibly refreshing after scrolling past videos of privileged white women pushing this god awful traditional wife content, women saying that good men are what they need to enter their soft era and alpha male content from white men who were probably exposed to the dark side of porn a little too young and with little to no supervision. As I watched this video I jumped into the comments and found that the creator of the video had responded to a comment asking for book recommendations on the subject and I have never clicked on a video faster. I ran to that video because 1. I am a sucker for book recs (please don’t recommend books to me, don’t even mention a book to me because I WILL BUY IT and I WILL READ IT. Please the books are taking over my home, haha) and 2. It felt like the universe had plopped that video on my fyp for me to find these books.
A lot of synchronicity has found its way into my life as of late. A week before I found this book I had been messaging with my nail tech discussing nail style and inspo. I told her that I was trying to channel this new energy that had found its way into my life since the spring equinox, a divine, earthy feminine energy. When I got home from my appointment I opened up a package sitting on my desk and upon holding the book I realized that my nails matched with the color scheme of the book cover.
As humans, we have this desire to find patterns in our lives to make sense of them, but when the patterns are too frequent, we lean toward doubt because the logical brain and the way white patriarchal society has separated us from our inner creative selves demands that we lead our lives with pure logic. So, even I felt that all the synchronicity were mere coincidence and not little signs from the Universe or The Great Cosmic Mother.
And if you are familiar with my work — or if you even take a look at the last short story I published I have been following these spiritual patterns for some time now. I wrote Bleeding Girl two months ago before I came across this work, before I learned about the Great Cosmic Mother, and Goddess energy. You are God, I wrote to those who have a uterus, a womb. You are God, I kept writing to myself unconsciously. Only to continue this spiritual work and learn that God is in fact a Woman. She is a Goddess, She is mother earth and the great goddess moon, she is us and we are her.
Tonight, I reflect on the purpose of SANTGL and am grateful that it is coming to fruition — all I wanted was to better understand myself, and my place within the microcosm (self) and the macrocosm (The Universe/ higher self). SANTGL has become this vessel where I channel what energy feels right to me and this sacred space continues to be a conduit between myself and the higher realms and everything becomes clear and makes more sense to me here. And I hope to nurture this space for as long as it needs to be.
Next week we will dive into the first chapter of The Great Cosmic Mother together and explore further our place within the microcosm.
Thank you for reading!
